Art Walk 2013 | Art

Thanks to my school I had the opportunity to travel to L.A. and be part of this year's Art Walk. I haven't been in touch with art since almost a year, with work I totally forget about it and it was a really cool to walk around the studios, take photos and ask like a thousands of times "What the hell where they thinking about?" I've had taken classes about modern art, in fact one of my favorite painters is Pollok, but there are some kind of artist I just can understand, I don't know if I am closed minded or something like that, but I just try and I don't find it attractive or interesting.

This year there was a zone of artist that I really loved, they worked like street/Social Protest art which I can say is my favorite type of art. Also there where a lot of photographers this year. Alexa Meade is a 23-year-old artist. She creates amazing paintings using real people as her canvas. Most artists use acrylic paints to create portraits of people on canvas. But not Meade - she applies acrylic paints on her subjects and makes them appear to be a part of the painting! Her innovative use of paint on the three dimensional surfaces of found objects, live models, and architectural spaces has been incorporated into a series of installations that create a perceptual shift in how we experience and interpret spatial relationships.

I'm leaving you guys with a little preview of my first photoshoot with models.

It's for a homework and it's about "Itten's Color Contrasts".

Some of my closest friends helped and did the modeling part for me, I was extremely afraid and shy but it was just fun; it's the first time that I work with people but the lucky part was that they are my friends and they know that, and thus they support me. It was easier than I thought. We did the photoshoot in a hallway of the campus, so we could use the natural light. Honestly, it was a little weird and a bit poor in quality, but what the hell? Life's about fun!

I'll post the final proyect next week.

Varios de mis amigos me ayudaron, y no lo negare tenía mucho miedo y vergüenza, pero fue mas fácil de lo que pensé. Mis amigos me ayudaron mucho. Las fotos fueron tomadas en un pasillo de la escuela, y si, fue un poco raro y decadente, pero, ¿Ya qué? Se trata de divertirse.
La semana que viene subiré las fotos de el trabajo final. Espero les guste.

This pictures are from the Art Walk, all were taken by my ex-boyfriend, so they are really special for me.

When I chose my clothes I try to keep it simple, but with fun, and adding something surprising in it. I love the contrast of this outfit. Is one of my favorites.

Well, I still don't having a laptop, so all my drafts still there, and well, I have no time at all, but you know I always try to make a little space in my time and post, as is well know is one of the things I love to do.
